DC Superhero games: How would you make a game with Superman and Batman and have it make sense?

Superman and Batman are always in every DC fighting game. The one thing that makes Marvel games better is that there isn't such a difference in power levels between the strongest and weakest.

How would you even the field for a game with Superman and Batman in it? One Idea I thought of is to have Batman start with a Kryptonite ring (Superman's decline is gradual, not rapid). This evens things a bit. Superman is still stronger but fading. He has to defeat Batman before he's too weak (break the ring). Batman has to find a hidden Red Sun gauntlet in order to speed Superman's decline.

Agree? What would you change?DC Superhero games: How would you make a game with Superman and Batman and have it make sense?
in MK vs DC, they explain it by saying that the "magic" and/or "supernatural" stuff from the MK world is affecting Superman's powers, as well as the powers of the other heroes. MEaning they get a bit weaker sorta.DC Superhero games: How would you make a game with Superman and Batman and have it make sense?
Game designers would probably dumb things down slightly for the mass audience, show a short clip scene of Superman being downed by Kryptonite, but still being able to fight enough to kick Batman's butt.

But it would be pretty cool if they actually made a Justice League game where the DC guys could team up together to fight their villains.DC Superhero games: How would you make a game with Superman and Batman and have it make sense?
Pretty interesting concept. Could work if you fleshed it out a bit more. A better question would be: why are they fighting? Is someone controlling Superman? Did Batman finally go off the deep end? If it has a good story it would make a good game.
